We started the day by getting up at 5.30am and flying from Dublin to London Stansted. We met my parents there and went to my God parents house near Duxford in Essex. My godfather Peter is a season ticket holder at Old Trafford and kindly organised tickets for us for the game against West Bromwich Albion. After the long journey up to Manchester we had time to look around the United Superstore, which was absolutely packed with people trying to get a souvenir. Craig had his birthday money to spend and so treated himself to a lovely watch and gold chain with the United logo on them. We took a few photos outside of the ground and then it was time to go in and take our seats for the game.
George Best, Dennis Law and Bobby Charlton, heroes of the 1968 European Cup win
So we took our seats in the Stretford End Upper Tier and Craig's eyes lit up when he saw his hero, Cristiano Ronaldo. The pitch and the stadium looked amazing as we settled down to watch the game. When I say settled down, I mean rested our bums against the seats. The United fans stood for the whole game and sang songs about their favourite players (none of which I could understand because of the funny accents!) but Craig joined in at every opportunity!
